What is it?

What is it?

Oral pain can have various origins: dental, muscular, joint, vascular or neuropathic. One of the most common causes is TMD (Temporomandibular Disorder), which affects the temporomandibular joints, the chewing muscles and other associated structures.

The symptoms include jaw pain, joint clicking, difficulty chewing, headaches, as well as tension in the face and neck. Bruxism is often associated with TMD.

At Dr. Vanda Gandum's Clinic, diagnosis involves a detailed clinical assessment, physical examination and, whenever necessary, complementary tests. The treatment plan is individualized and may integrate multidisciplinary approaches, such as Physiotherapy, Otorhinolaryngology and Sleep Medicine.
